Q: Is this a convention?
A: Nuh-uh. Just a week of activities and events related to the Japanese culture. Although we are like a convention in some ways, we don't have nifty badges, we don't have any ConSuite, and we aren't charging anyone a cent of admission costs. Cool huh?
Q: Who is supporting this event?
A: Local Stockton businesses (mainly Grapevine Comics) and JCFA club members, but NOT any organization with ties to UOP. Why? Well, most of our attendance for events and such comes from Stockton, NOT UOP. Why are UOP students apathetic towards these kinds(not to mention all) of events? They couldn't answer that for us....they're all sleeping.
Q: Who are JCFA?
A: The Japanese Culture Fans Association. While we are based on the campus of the University of the Pacific, membership is open to anyone in the area. If you are interested in joining JCFA, drop us a line at otaku@concentric.net.
Q: Gee, I thought you guys were an anime club...
A: If there is one stereotype of our club we are all too familiar with, it's this one. Since we have no money, and anime screenings cost us nothing to program, up until now that is all we have done. We are trying to change that with Golden Week while retaining anime programming at the same time, but money is still a problem. I think we should pull it off nicely though^-^.
